Many countries in the world are now attempting to reduce greenhouse gases through voluntary or other pollution-mitigation programs. Examples include the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (rggi.org), a market-based regulatory program comprising Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic U.S. states that strives to reduce CO2 emissions in the power generation sector. PUAF 689M Decision Modeling

Students from the University of Maryland participated in a collaborative course with German students from the Technical University of Berlin. In addition to traditional coursework in Berlin, the joint group participated in excursions to Jänschwalde power plant, Wendefurth and Rappbode dams, and Wienrode water treatment plant. More.
